Which King James text this is
The King James Version in the 1769 standard form that is in common use today. It is published here as it stands: no word replaced, no spelling modernised and no verse renumbered.

Every book present, in the traditional order, with no chapter locked and no book held back.
- 1,189 chapters
Each chapter has its own page carrying the complete text, not an excerpt.
- 31,102 verses
The verse count of every chapter was checked one by one against the traditional versification before publishing. Psalm 119 has its 176 verses, 3 John its 14, Revelation 22 its 21.
Licence
The reason this can be published without asking anyone.
- The King James text is free to use
First published in 1611 and standardised in 1769, it is long out of copyright and is read, copied, printed and distributed worldwide without a licence.
- One exception, in the United Kingdom
Within the UK the King James Version remains under perpetual Crown letters patent, administered by Cambridge University Press. Everywhere else it is treated as public domain.
